Goldstein Legal & Franchise Finance launch new legal QFP module

Goldstein Legal has teamed up with leading financial consultants, Franchise Finance, to offer a new British Franchise Association (bfa) approved Qualified Franchise Professional (QFP) module, entitled Key Legal Issues in Franchising.

The new course is open to anyone with an interest in franchising and can contribute 250 non-core points towards a QFP certificate.   It offers practical and useful guidance to the most important legal issues effecting the industry today, and will take place on Tuesday, 31st January 2017 at Goldstein Legal’s offices in central Windsor.

Drawing from real-life case studies and issues, this interactive course will be delivered by Roz Goldstein QFP and will be presented in an upbeat and commercially relevant context.

The course is based around the following topics:

  • The franchise agreement explained
  • The importance of trade marks
  • How a franchise differs from other business formats, e.g. brand licensing, distribution, agency etc
  • How to get the most out of your franchise agreement; using it as a tool for driving good performance throughout the system
  • What rights do franchisees and franchisors have under a franchise agreement, and what are their obligations?
  • The most common legal pitfalls in franchising, and how to avoid them
  • The operations manual and its legal implications
  • Personal guarantees, deposit agreements and Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
  • How franchising is affected by UK and EU competition laws
  • Changes to the legal landscape and their impact on franchising in the UK in future
  • Ethical franchising and the role of the bfa

An invaluable QFP module, Key Legal Issues in Franchising will give you the opportunity to clarify and improve your understanding of franchise legal issues, as explained by a bfa-affiliated lawyer.

The course runs from 10am to 4pm and costs £325 per person.
