Celebrating the most passionate and inspirational members of the franchise community, the British Franchise Association (bfa) has revealed the finalists for the bfa HSBC Franchisee of the Year Award.
Now in its 28th year, the bfa HSBC Franchisee of the Year Award is the UK franchise industry’s longest running and most prestigious award.
Using five different categories, the awards showcase the UK’s most forward-thinking franchisees, who have achieved outstanding results, not only through exceptional talent but by promoting best business practices and values.
In the Female Franchisee of the Year category, the following franchisees have been shortlisted: Shweta Jhajharia, ActionCOACH Ltd, Judy Wilson-Petch, Greensleeves Lawn Care, Germain Ash, Mac Tools and Tamsin Brewis, Water Babies.
In the Young Franchisee of the Year (aged 30 or under) category, Victoria Webber, Bluebird Care, Hannah Drury, Caremark Ltd. and James Rygor, Snap-On Tools have been named as finalists.
Three franchisees have been selected as finalists in the Customer Focus Award: Donald McClymont, Driver Hire, Eliott Ray, Dyno and Olivia & Mel Landin, O2.
Meanwhile, Ruth Morris, Creation Station, Neil Collis, Ed’s Garden Maintenance and John Baldacchino, Wilkins Chimney Sweep Ltd. are the finalists in the Microbusiness Award category.
Lastly, Karl Fox, Premier Sport Ltd and Suzanne & Gary Horton, Puddle Ducks will be competing for the esteemed Franchisee Innovation Award.
Pip Wilkins, CEO, bfa, said, “With so many inspirational stories from our members’ franchisees, it’s always a tough task to narrow it down to our 15 finalists. These outstanding business owners have so many different reasons for taking control of their business lives, and to hear the diversity in these stories is always so empowering.
“All of our finalists this year are an excellent example of how the franchisor’s collaborative approach, combined with the go-getting attitude of the franchisee, generates success at both individual and network levels.”
The overall bfa HSBC Franchisee of the Year winner will be determined on the night of the awards ceremony, following an audience vote, where they will be asked to choose one franchisee from all the finalists listed above.
The bfa HSBC Franchise Awards ceremony will take place on 28th June 2017 at a black tie event during the bfa Annual Conference at the ICC in Birmingham.
Andrew Brattesani, UK Head of Franchising for HSBC, said, “Judging is a hard task at the best of times, which only becomes harder every year when the difference in best in class is paper thin. Each highlights how focus and drive, when supplemented by the support of a franchisor, results in the growth of a sustainable and profitable business.
“HSBC is delighted to play a pivotal role in meeting the financial challenges of this dynamic and important market sector.”
